4th Gen dash swaps with LS1 engine INSIDE
I need help, i've tried everything. I have my engine running fine, and the dash swap is all mounted and almost wired up. I can not get the tach, gas, and water temp gage to work, as well as the odometer. These all recieve thier signal from the PCM, the serial data is connected to the PCM, why will it not work???
Does anyone have an LS1 motor with a 4th gen in and working? What am i missing? It has to be something simple but i'm stuck in a corner, any help would be great!

Yeah I agree. Check your power and grounds and signal wires. Take it one gauge at a time. Tach is easy because its just gotta have power, ground, and some connection to PIN 10 on one of the plus (white wire).
Just kinda go over it all. Its so easy to miss a ground with these things. I missed a teeny tiny ground wire on my LS1 swap that caused me about 45 minutes of agony.
Props to you for even trying to wire up the LS1 dash. That stuff intimidates the crap out of me.

When an exhaust shop tried to start my car with a dead emergency starter, they blew out my gauges. The only things that worked were the hard wired sensors, anything fed from the PCM was dead. Replaced the cluster and all was well.
Another cluster is a cheap thing to try before diving into the wiring.

Checked and Re-Checked power and grounds that is alway the first thing i do. I dont think its my gauges that are blown becuase some work and some dont, the only ones that dont are the ones that recieve thier signal from the PCM which includes the Tach, Fuel level, odometer. They get thier signal thru the data link wire, i'm going to look into that wire hopefully i will find something, if not i may end up going with a custom panel of Autometers. The search continues.
