Turn Signal only works one way?

I have an 89 GTA and when I turn left the turn signal clicks down and everything is fine. If I need to go right the lever can be pulled up hard and the signal works but you have to hold up on it or it just snaps back down. It's a pain. Should I take off the wheel or what? What holds the lever in position until you turn? It feels like it is under pressure.

Re: Turn Signal only works one way?

most likely the turn signal cam assembly is cracked it happens often, youll have to remove the steering wheel and lock plate and then there will be the turn signal assembly

need a wheel puller and lock plate compressor, borrow one from a shop or friend or buy them they are 15 bucks each, or rent for free at auto zone

good luck

You might be able to find one in the Motormite HELP! section at your local Pep Boys, can't remember if we still carry them or not. Otherwise, they're about $0.50 at the dealer.

I just had the same problem. Pulled the wheel and it ended up just being a lose screw on top of the cam.
