i wanted to post some pics of what looks like recalled buckles and belts. some of you pros can tell me the history.

the one on the left looks to be the original. the one on the right looks like a recall.


the top was my original. the bottom looks like the fix. i hope these pics can help some people out. i didn't know what the recall looked like till i stumbled around the junkyard for a few hours.

 

If memeory serves me right I was thinking it had to to with the red button fading AND it sometimes not latching. At least that was the case in my car.

If memory serves me right, it was b/c of 2 issues, one was the fading of the red button, and the belt would sometimes not latch.

 

make car came with thos recall ones and not one of them worked

 

I remember the recall because I bought my 87 TA new. The metal clip was the fix, it was meant to keep the plastic from breaking on the body of the latching part. The other pic just looks like they went to a plastic cap instead of the metal cap.
