What seat's will fit a 3rd gen?
I figure this would make a nice sticky and also to help people like me that live in smaller town's but need new front seat's, so the picking's in the junkyard are slim.
So far i know any 3rd gen and 4th gen will fit.
In another post i read that the GrandAm seat's will fit if you use the orignal slider's off your 3rd gen.
Any other's that you know will fit and with what modifications and what will not.

ok, without modifying... I don't have the original brackets and it's no fun redoing brackets to make them fit. I guess, how about some pics of different setups and how hard it was to mount them?

I put in black seats from a Foxbody Cobra yesterday. Just swapped the tracks. Looks badass.

Any seat from an 82-02 F-Body will bolt up in any 82-02 F-Body.
I saw on eBay some buy selling some black leather 98 TA seats that he said he swapped the tracks to use the seats in his Monte Carlo but the auction didn't say what year Monte Carlo.

Re: What seat's will fit a 3rd gen?
I will have to add pics of the mustang seats tomorrow. I had no time to make it to my shop. I am in the process of redoing my entire interior.
I laid peel and seal, newish black carpet, and redid all the plastics. Most of everything is in. The seats are in and 75% of the plastics are too.
So stay tuned tomorrow.

Armyofone..............yes a forth gen rear will fit. Just remember that a 4th gen rear is 4" wider than the stock one. This will affect backspacing on the rims. Cavalier seats will fit...just have to re and re the seat track from the original seats.

1meanZ did Fiero seats that allowed him more head room
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/body...ered-look.html
Here's my 1994 Grand Am seat install
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/inte...-am-seats.html
And I way second this as a sticky! I was told in my post by Jay that 1st gen S10 seats will swap onto the brackets as well. I know for a fact that Fox body Mustang seats won't swap in, I gave a set of third gen seats to a friend for a Fox body and the swap wasn't possible without welding or serious fabrication. I'de like to see those Cobra seats; I had a chance to get a pair of power Mustang leather seats a while back and didn't do it, if I find out they would've fit that'll suck. I'll measure out the distance for the bolts that the brackets need to bolt up whenever I get home this week

Re: What seat's will fit a 3rd gen?
Here are the Mustang Seats.
The Driver side is powered. Has power Lumbar and has a dial to make the bottom wider.
The Passenger side is power lumbar and has the same bottom wide dial.
The seats sit lower a tad and gives you more head room by far.
They are still dusty since My interior is not finished. I will update next weekend when everything is back together.

Those are sweet. How much were they? I paid $50 for mine and they are awesome for my muscle car look.
Re: What seat's will fit a 3rd gen?
So if my ride doesn't have power seats how hard is that to modify? I can find seats from my car from a '98 but they are power. Should I just switch the bottom bracket so the drivers side moves back and forth?

Re: What seat's will fit a 3rd gen?
Those look like Fox Body style seats, you got the brackets to line up and swap over on those? We tried that with regular Fod Body seats and there was no way, we're talking 6in difference at the bottom.

Re: What seat's will fit a 3rd gen?
I did not use the Mustang tracks. I swapped the tracks. That was a bolt on. Swapping the tracks took me a whole 20 minutes. The driver seat has the manual tracks and power tracks. Bolt your tracks onto it and slide it right in like I did. Those two seats were $50 and well worth it.

Re: What seat's will fit a 3rd gen?
WTF That's odd, we tried using 1987 seats and the tracks wouln't line up a bit. We ended up sticking a set of LX seats in the Mustang and I kept my other Camaro seats that I ultimately ended up using the tracks off of for these Grand AM seats. What year Cobra did you get those seats from? Maybe they changed the design of the seats after 87.

Re: What seat's will fit a 3rd gen?
Oh. All you need is to add a power and ground wire to virtually any power seat and then the seat does the rest.
Unfortunately, if you add power seats, and not hook up power, they will not move. It is an easy install for the power seats. If you do not want to go that route swap the seat bracket for your 82, and you are set.

pretty much any gm seat will fit, just swap the tracks, MOST all have the same spacing for the tracks to the seat but the tracks to the floor spacing is different from car to car.
my fiance just put fourth gen fbody seats in his fiero last night.

Beretta/Corsica seats are totally different.
***edit -there's another post with someone that has Beretta Z26 seats in his car. I owned a 90 Beretta and the set up was totally different compared to the thirdgen style and I as far as I know it wouldn't bolt up. Maybe they changed styles or he did a custom bracket.

I have an '87 iroc z28. It has power driver seat. I am looking to replace the fronts with new four point, cloth, adjustable seats. Anyone got a good price/place for getting some?

Re: What seat's will fit a 3rd gen?
"Just switch the 3rd Gen seat tracks over and they'll bolt right in....."
* How much metal needs to be there on the new(er) seats to drill the F-Body seat track pattern into? And what grade bolts should we be using?
* For the power seats; I have power drivers seat on my 88 IROC, but would love to figure out a way to adapt power tracks to the passenger seat? Anyone ever tackle that or was there ever a power passenger seat option in the 4th gens???? (Duel Power Seats is a must for times when emergency oral sex is needed).
My personal seat issue is I need to swap out an actual pair of Recaro into my 88 IROC. The tracks on the Recaro's are much-much wider and heftyer than the Camaro's. I know I can contact Recaro for purchasing the correct seat brackets, but I think they're around $350 EACH??? and no power option. so if I pull my GM seat tracks off the old how do I beef up the area where I'll need to drill new threaded mounting holes in the Recaro's???
Anyone ever have to deal with this???? Nitro

Re: What seat's will fit a 3rd gen?
Personally I used Recaro seats and I picked the material to match the car.
They came out really good.

Re: What seat's will fit a 3rd gen?
He said that he used the F body bracket on the passenger side and the fiero bracket on the D side to get it lower.
Dose that mean that the D side Fiero bracket can be used with the stock seat or another direct replacement seat to gain some head room?
I would like some more room but dont want to be limmited to fiero seats.
