Grand AM seats

I got a pair of Grand AM seats the other day and decided to see if they would fit, swap the sliders out and they go right in. These seats are very similar to the Firebird seats and were lighter than the stock seats once I put the Camaro sliders on them.

Re: Grand AM seats

It was about a 94 Grand am, generally just any of the rounded body style cars, not the old boxy ones (though they may also work considering they ran to 91). I'll get some pics in a minute here I just finished the drivers side up.

Re: Grand AM seats

Here's 2 pics of the seats and a pic of the massive Grand AM sliders I removed. I should've weighed these seats but my bathroom scale isn't digital so it would've barely registered and probably been inaccurate.

Re: Grand AM seats

Wow!

That's great. They look a little wider than the original seats. That's even better as far as I am concerned!

Great tech tip! I'll be using that one!

Re: Grand AM seats

did they come from a 2 or 4 door? If they are from a 4 door, they probably don't tilt forward.

Re: Grand AM seats

Yes they tilt foward and yes the car was a 2 door. I wouldn't mind using 4 door seats because I don't have back seats, and I can use the tilt adjust to lean them foward if I need to access the back.

Re: Grand AM seats

I had some 4 door Blazer seats in my extra cab S10 and had to change the hinge from my old seats because they wouldn't tilt forward to where I could get in the back.
1st gen S10 seats bolt right up to the thirdgen seat tracks also

Re: Grand AM seats

I remember I once had a Grand Damn (as I call it, since it crapped out on me) but one thing I did recall is that it had some very comfortable seats... Good to know that the sliders bolt up. I swapped Dodge Conquest seats in my T A and had to modify the sliders to fit the seat...

Re: Grand AM seats

NOTE there is now a thread about what seats fit these cars, everyone should post pics up of what they've swapped into these cars and how hard it was.
