Roll cage

I tried searching and couldnt find a answer but other than saftey of a roll over does a roll cage help stiffing the cars frame, or is it just for a roll over?

Re: Roll cage

almost a must if you want 450-500 rwhp. the fbody twist so much it's not even funny. my old 86 Iroc with a mild 355 ripped the roof at the b piller.

Re: Roll cage

I know the car has a sub frame but other than that not too much support but i didnt think a mild motor would twist the car that much, i wanted to put a 6 point in now looks like thats next weekends project thanks guys

Re: Roll cage

I put a six point competion enginering cage in my car. I am really happy with the fit. Also the chassis is alot stiffer. I havent driven it but can tell when jacking up the car. The only thing is your back seat becomes useless. But hey if you don't have to sit back there then who cares. I also like haveing the 5 point harness.
