Changing speedo cluster from 84 to 87 having problems
Trying to see if you ever run into this problem or know somebody who has,I have a 84 trans am trying to put newer model instrutement panel in instead of old one,one problem i have is no speedo cable hookup,also when i set it in place and turn lights on they basically goes heywire,do i need to change out the dash wiring out also,then what do i do about speedo,thanks,any help will help.

The 84 used a cable-driven speedometer and the 87 had an electronic one. You'll need to put a VSS in the transmission and wire it to the speedometer.
