Hi, I have a overhead console & a rear view mirror with the map lights to install in my 91GTA I have all the wiring for both items My car is a C&C custom t-top car. Do I have to take the headliner down?
Also,my car did not have floor lights is that common in 91GTA's? I also have them to install but I need the little white covers anyone have any?
Thank You for you help.

Re: lighted rear view mirror
You can install the overhead console without removing the headliner. There is a write up in the "tech" articles on this site on how to do it...positioning, cutting, etc.
Once you have the holes cut for the overhead console, you can mount your lighted mirrior, fish the wires up into the headliner, and splice them in with your wiring for the console. I just installed a 4th gen lighted mirror in my 87 with overhead console. Its very easy. There are three wires I think. One goes to ground, one goes to hot all the time, and one goes to hot only when the dome lights are on (doors open, dimmer switch on, etc). That way, your mirrior lights work by their own switches, and also work with the dome light.
On your coutesy lights...not sure but you might be able to get those white domes from classic industries or modern day muscle. But your best bet is to find them on ebay or a yard...or someone on here.
Good luck!

Its VERY VERY easy... One wire is a ground. One wire is hot only when the doors are open or when the dome light switch is on. And one wire is hot all the time so you can turn the lights on individually even without the key.
You can wire it up so that it only uses the switches..just omit the wire that wants the door switch signal.
I cant tell you colors off hand...Ide have to go look at mine. But ground is black. And the other two..just trial and error. You have a 50/50 shot of getting them right the first go around.
If you still need help, I can go home and check colors...
