Looks to me like that second one has everything to bolt right up except for the speed sensor. Those things are freaking expensive, they do look very nice though.

Re: autometer gauges cluster and wireing harness question

It is a dash with gauges from Covens Classic. I put the link below. Yes it is a plug and play unit. The built in harness makes it real simple. The panel and gauges come in different finishes. Buy direct and save $30.00!

I would rather use the stock face trim and an empty cluster then just use a pillar for the oil pressure. Where is the turn signals in that one?

Yeah, I really like the Jimmy Jams unit. I have there auto shifter switch panel, and I love it. They do some quality work over there.

Re: autometer gauges cluster and wireing harness question

If you really wanted a engine light you could probably make a hole for a led indicator light. Wouldn't really worry about it though.

I'm torn between aftermarket gauges and stock gauges. I like both, and my original speedo is broken soooo? hmmmmm.! lol!!

Re: autometer gauges cluster and wireing harness question

I seem to recall that a few months ago, John Nelson of Chevy High Performance installed one of these clusters in an 84 Camaro (IIRC). At that time some modification of the harness was required. I e-mailed Covan for further info moments ago. Should the cluster truly be plug and play, I'd be very interested.

Re: autometer gauges cluster and wireing harness question

Here's the response from Covan:

None of our wiring is direct plug to your factory wiring. You will be taking your factory plug off then putting your factory wires into the new plugs we provide so you can still plug into the new gauges. Thanks!

There are none. You need to make it yourself if you want them.
