hatch motor

the last few days i have noticed that the trunk hatch motor just keeps going up and down unless i mess with it for a while to "try" to make it stop...

this is only when the hatch is down (when it is suppose to suck it down)

any one know why this is happening?

thanks

Re: hatch motor

Time to rebuild it. Remove the hatch surround trim panel and check it. Problem areas are the gear nut, hatch motor housing (clear plastic) and guides. Once you determine what needs to be replaced you can order them all through my web site.

Re: hatch motor

Not to hijack his thread, but my hatch motor used to work and closed properly but now it won't go down all the way and is slow coming back up. I'm guessing the gears and motor are dying. Am I right in that assumption Lon? I was planning on buying a rebuild kit or just a whole new assembly

Re: hatch motor

Im also sorry for hijacking the thread, But I know you interior guys have to get bugged about a new hatch question every hour. when I hit the button I can hear it making the clicking release sound. But my door wont grab. I just want it to **** (even if it wont open) I can push the little hook down with a flat head screw driver and it will stay until I push the button for it to release. But I cant get the bar on the hatch to snag the hook on the bottom.

I had this issue and I am currently waiting on a new aero wing before I rebuild everything. In my case, the rear hatch sheet metal portion had finally slid far enough off the glass that the latch would no longer line up. Sad really.
