91 HVAC questions

Are the HVAC controls completely vacuum operated or does it use rods/cables? I can't switch the vent position, and haven't taken it apart yet. Thanks guys!

Re: 91 HVAC questions

I believe they are vaccum controlled. They are the same things as the pre-91 style, just with yellow letters instead of white.

Re: 91 HVAC questions

The hot/cold flapper is cable. All other flappers are vacuum actuated. And of course fan speed is electric.

Re: 91 HVAC questions

So to get rid of the yellow lettering, I would need to swap in an 88-89 HVAC unit?

Could installing LED's help change the color?

Re: 91 HVAC questions

You can remove the faceplate and just swap in one from an older car with white letters. pull the **** and the little slider buttons off and the faceplate unscrews from behind.
