Weighted Shift ****?
Found a shift **** that wighed a pound and 29 ounces and that seems like a lot but supossedly it helps make your shifting smoother which kinda makes sense to me but what do you guys think would a wieghted shifter help shift smoother?

Re: Weighted Shift ****?
maybe if you have a short throw shifter kit and youre talking about easier shifts when racing or something like that....other than that, then no....just probably annoying

Re: Weighted Shift ****?
- driver's skill
- engineering mechanics of the transmission's operation
Not the weight of the ****.
Maybe they think that having to move a heavier **** will result in more effort to move it, thus needing more effort on the driver's part, thus making the shift move more slowly, thus giving the impression it's smoother?
Thus it sounds like snake-oil to me.

Re: Weighted Shift ****?
A heavier shift **** in theory is beneficial. It'll carry more kinetic energy making it easier to shift, with less effort by the driver, which will result in a smoother engagement. Does it really do this? Yes and no. Will you notice it? probably not. So dont worry about it.

A pound and 29 ounces huh? Should have said it was 2 pounds and 13 ounces. Sounds a lot heavier than 35 ounces. :-P

Re: Weighted Shift ****?
id rather have a carbon fiber one to improve weight transfer on my launches. i was running an aluminum one but it was keeping too much weight on the front wheels.
.......i dont think it really matters

Re: Weighted Shift ****?
P U K E ! ! Geez that is a disgusting looking shift ****, yet alone claiming to " improve shifting " . Take that bull and light it in your cigar if you believe it. I'd rather spring for a hideous AutoZone shift **** than that one. I have a 4th gen Hurst that I will sell you. Nothing wrong with it at all, I am just getting a c6 **** so I won't have any need for this one. Either way, don't get that ****, keep looking, oh and your 8ball **** probably doesn't look all that bad, it's a nice basic designed shifter.
how much you want for the hurst? Is it just a **** or are you talking about a short shift kit?
