strange power lock problem...
I went to start my car today and the batterys dead, since I dont drive it very much I dont think anything of it, I go to jump it, but then I hear my door locks going on and off. every 5-10 seconds both my door locks lock then unlock. then since I had my door panels off already I disconnected the lock motors. please tell me theres a simple (cheap) way to fix this.
edit: I also know I recently had a mouse in my car.
so any wires I could check to see if they're eaten threw?

Re: strange power lock problem...
The only thing I can think of that would cause that to happen is a wire shorting out. Sounds like its shorting to a piece of metal and not another wire. Since your door locks went crazy, I would check the wiring going to the lock actuators and trace their path all the way back into the car. The wires tend to wear out inside of the rubber boot that they run into the door through since it moves and rubs up against them a lot. That would be the first thing I would check. Hope this helps out

You might want to read this thread. It dose have the power door lock wiring diagram in it, along with pictures and locations of some of the components.

Re: strange power lock problem...
This happened to me a couple months ago. It turned out to be the positive battery terminal that wasn't tightened correctly and had corroded slightly. It allowed just enough power to jump the locks and flick some of the gauges on the dash. I fixed it by charging the battery and cleaning the terminal.

I think those both sound like they could be the reason too because my passenger side lock button has stuck on me before, and since Ive been doing alot of work on the car lately Ive been disconnecting the battery alot. Ill check both these too. thanks
