i am looking for the best carpet to get for my iroc. all i need is the passenger area carpet. the back is perfect, has anyone ever had a problem with replacing just half of the carpet and it not matching up to the other? also what is the correct technical color name for the grey carpet in thirdgens?

I bought ACC (Auto Custom Carpet) for my 88 TA, I only did the front like you want to (my rear carpet was mint, too) and it matched up perfectly. I believe the technical color is Medium Gray (I think). When I fold the rear seats down, the two sections meet up and you can't tell a difference in the color at all.

And the color you are looking for "should" be Dove Grey.

 

Just checked my GM manual, the RPO code for my 88 is 821, which is called Dark Medium Gray.

 

But the aftermarket color is Dove Gray.
