Hey guys i just removed my red carpet and power washed it then i put car wash soap on it then shop vacked it then i let it dry broke out the zep carpet cleaner in a can scrubbed the whole thing then hosed it off and shop vacked it again and it looks amazing i suggest this to any one with a light colored carpet the passenger area actually looks better than the cargo area by a long shot and the car has 140k on it all i need now is the juke backing cloth to pad it like it is meant to be

 

i bought a roll of it in the carpet section of home depot for $25, they had it in back. just ask for the carpet padding that goes underneath.

 

was it foam or coth fiber?

 

haven't open it but it looked a lot like the factory wild assortment of fiber something.

Foam wouldn't do a thing for sound deadoning fyi.

the packing is clear, go to home depot and see it for yourself...looks like the factory stuff

 

is that stuff heat resisant

 

i went to lowes and got the high quality under carpet stuff, its multicolored and has a blue plastic layer on top so water and moisture doesnt affect it, it cost more but its mildew and stain resistant

 

Foam does alot more for sound deadening than you think.It is put in BMW's,Caddy's,Jag's,Porches,and all the high end car's.And they use it more then they do the jute padding on the back of the OE carpet's,from GM,Ford,and Mopar.

 

if 4th gen's used it just grab it from one of them.

 

not the foam that goes under household carpet which is what I'm talking about, it is there for padding only and has very open cells in the foam.
