91-92 seatbelt guides????????

Hi. The driver side seatbelt shoulder guide broke on my 92 Z28. I found an affordable correct replacement on ebay. 91 and 92 guides are different from all previous years. These dont separate like the old ones do so installation doesn't look like an easy task. I really want to fix this because without them the belt cuts/rubs into my neck while driving. Once fixed they'll hold the belt in proper position and it won't be a safety or nusiance.
Someone on this forum probably knows an easy way to replace these (the problem being how to thread the belt through). It looks like the seatbelt assembly has to be taken apart unless someone has a better solution. Thanks!!!

Disassembly? Surely not. Well, maybe.

Yeah, all my older f-bodies 82-90 we're simple to replace because they did open up. The newer style ones don't. That's why it's turning into a project. I almost went with the older style because they're easy to install but I want to use the O.E. parts.

I used an older set until i could find replacements

You can sometimes find them in a JY

I used a fine tooth hacksaw to cut it in between the screws

You wont notice the slit and OEM replacements have a similar slit

Didn't want to do it but broke down and used the band saw. I cut I fine slit between the two screw holes and have since installed it in the car. Thanks for the suggestions

mine was the same one ask the seller if it has a cut in it my new one did and it comes with this plastic piece to hold it together when you screw it onto your head rest i know it sounds weird but its easier than pulling an old bolt out if not thats not that hard either.

I got mine off ebay out of a wrecked Z28. I got mine really cheap (they sent me the pair) but the price on these is insane from a lot of places so it paid off for me to really look around.
