Steering column trim removal??
Does anyone know if the plastic trim that goes around the stering column at and just behind the turn signal switch can be removed without piulling the steering wheel?
All I'm trying to do is get to the linkage between the turn signal lever and the bright dim switch.
Whn I pulled the turn signal lever towards me to switch to brights it felt like something broke. Now it is stuck on bright. I pulled trim and brackets to lower the column, and found the bright/dim switch. It is activated by an arm that depresses it when the lever is pulled towards the driver. I tested the switch by pushing on it and it still works, so the prolblem is that the lever/arm is not pushing the switch all the way.
Not sure exactly how I will fix this but it doesn't sound too complicated. I just have to get to it...If anyone knows how to fix this problem suggestions would help. Mainly I just need to get that trim off to see the problem, though.
