i ran into the same problem with my seats. i used the stock brackets with mine and made a box frame to mount the new seats to.

Re: racing seat height
ok to make it easier. it makes it harder then normal to get into the car and always hit head on t-top gettin in. anybody else experience this or is the seat i bought made that way?
Re: racing seat height
I was looking into this several years ago when I was first planning to put racing seats into my car (still haven't though). Most complained that the seats were too high with the brackets supplied with the seats even though they are for our cars. The guys with the best luck modified the brackets to sit lower. Since I have not done it myself, I do not know how difficult that is to do, might it might be something to look into.

Re: racing seat height
I have Sparco Torino seats in my car and I used the Corbeau mounting brackets and sliders made for our cars. Took the brackets to a fab shop and had them modify the mounting tabs so the seats sit 1" lower.
I'm 6' 1" - 6' 2" and have plenty of head room. For autocross, while wearing my helmet, I have about 1" of clearance from the t-tops.
I still have room to lower the driver's seat a tad more if I wanted by having the mounting tabs modified some more.
