Re: Dash Pad

I'm in your boat too. I'm guessing you saw this thread?

Here's what I got going on that I need to manage before I lose material out of the interior. Just a couple cracks on the corner now but before you know it... problems.

Can a sage TGO member with experience with the interior repair verify the best way to fix these hairline cracks?

Thanks!

Re: Dash Pad

I have the same problem on my DD. I have a new pad but would like to fix this one since this is the only problem. There's gotta be some type of "goo" that can be used to cement this. I haven't really looked myself.

Re: Dash Pad

i had the same exact problem. i found this generic vynl repair kit for like $5. its like a small sodering pen except the end of it is a small metal disk about the size of a quarter. and it comes with a little pad with the vynl texture thats pretty exact. you sort of melt the area a bit around the damage with the pen, spread it over evenly, then dab it with the texture pad and let it dry. looks like there was never any damage

Re: Dash Pad

you could plastic weld it. there's a company called urathane supply company (i think) that has everything you would need.
i bought a plastic welder from them to fix some GFX tabs that were broken. they sent a dvd also, and i got bored and watched it. they showed a guy fixing a padded dash. pretty cool.

Re: Dash Pad

AutoZone sells a vinyl repair kit that is supposed to work wonders on your dash. Never personally used it but know people who have & been satisfied with it. Dont know too much about it though.

This is the route I'll likely go before start searching for a replacement. I'll let you know how it goes.
