Speedo, Oil pressure and Temp guages not working.
Speedo, Oil pressure and Temp guages not working.
I was reading th Oil pressure guage and when It was idiling it was at 0, when I took off it went up to 15 or 20. Then I changed my oil put brand new oil and oil filter in there and it's still at 0 and goes up to 20 or so when Im cruising. Anyone know why thats not working? I dont understand why it wouldnt be getting any pressure.
The Speedo doesnt work but thats not a big deal but is there anything that I should know? Is that a common thing?
And the temp only gets to about 130 degress after warm up. I assume that's broken too?
Thanks for anyhelp guys.

that oil pressure gauge from the factory is really more or less a joke. I would hook up an aftermarket gauge to it to see what it reads then.
Since you didn't mention what car you drive or what year, engine, trans, ect. I can't really help with the speedo. Speedo not working is somewhat common if cable driven the cable can bind or get pinched and cause a no work issue. Electric - components fail and can do the same no work issue.
temp gauges regularly go bad as well, though less regularly than the oil pressure gauge, you can start by checking your connections in the back of the cluster to make sure of good contact.
