4th gen window switches.
Between the cost and rarity of a 3rd gen window switches I'm considering alternatives. Does anyone know if 4th gen window switches will work in 3rd gen cars? same harness and will it be a clean install?

Re: 4th gen window switches.
Modification is required, the 4th gen cars used a similar wiring setup for the windows but it will not be plug n play. You will need to graft in a 4th gen switch plug (single style for each if using the 3rd gen switch location or one single and one double if moving the switches to the doors). There is also a power window control module (allows auto down feature) and a retained accessory power module (allows 10 min of power after key is turned off to power accessories). These are optional, and would be a little trickier to install, but not impossible.

Re: 4th gen window switches.
Just to clarify, the 3rd gen and 4th gen switches can be made to work on either harness, I temporarily grafted my 3rd gen switches on my 1994 wiring harness until I found some switches in the junkyard, and they do work. It's not ideal, and it took a little studying of the wiring diagrams.
