The rear view mirror in my car looks like it might not be stock. So I figured I would post a picture and see if anyone recognizes it.

most likely a 94 and newer car or truck. cant tell what type. I replace mirrors stock mirrors w/ aftermarkets ones like that all the time at the car shop. some people just prefer to have extra interior lights since the orginal dome lights arent that bright. Atuo dimming mirrors are nice to have that why ppl replace them, saves them the hassle

How do I know if it still works? Only reason I ask is because one time I started the car and then a litle bit of smoke came from it. That can't be good...

turn the switch to auto and the distance to well pretty much whatever and have someone get behind your car with their headlights on. it should change the viewing angle if it's quiet you can hear the motor moving it also. If it doesn't work you can get them off of Ebay or on here for anywhere form $20-40. They are nice to have if you drive alot at night. I was going to wire one up for my convertible but I decided to just get a mirror from a newer camaro so I would have the map lights.

Stock as the fellows said. I swapped in a **** mirror (auto dimming, temp, compass).

Totally stock mirror.Have about 5 of them around here.Besides fbodies I have also seen them in cadillacs,rivieras and oldsmobile trofeos

That's a stock mirror. I put an auto dim mirror in my car from a early 2000s Silverado with the dual display that shows outside temp and compass direction at the same time. Cost a total of around $50 I think including buying the thermometer.

Yep, stock. Both of my 86's have it. I've even seen one in a late-80's Town Car, and it was stock too.
