Plastic Dash part 85 --- 91

Is the Main Dash part, The biigg plastic peice. Is it interchangable from year to year. There is a guy that has an 91 dash for sale. My 1985 is cracked in the center. If I get this will All of my Guages/Switch/Accesories fit it? Will my Center Console fit it also? I want everything to line up nicely.

Thanks

Re: Plastic Dash part 85 --- 91

It seems like you want the whole dash. If thats the case then no because anything pre 90 has manual gauges, and everything post 90 has electronic gauges and the two are not compatible.

Re: Plastic Dash part 85 --- 91

I take it the back of the dash isn't cut out for speedo cable and stuff. I'm planning on still using my 85 guages as the new dash dosn't come with any.

This is a pic of what I'm looking at buying.

the Camaro changed dash style in 1990. Your guages will not fit the 1991 dash at all, it requires a completely different shaped guage cluster. Your guages will fit inside a 1982-1989 camaro dash and be functionally interchangeable. I'm not sure if small changes were made during that time.

Glad I read this. I have the same problem with mine. I knew the gauge cluster was totally different, but thought you could use the 82-89 gauge clusters in the 90-92 dash shell.

Re: Plastic Dash part 85 --- 91

I have a 89 Iroc needing a whole interior repair/redone. In the garage sits a 1990 RS with all the interior in good condition, except the dashpad and seats. I am aware SOME of the dash changed from 89 to 90. What should I be aware of, as far as differences between the 89 and 1990 interior, when I exchange parts? Thanks.

Re: Plastic Dash part 85 --- 91

The '90 and later dashes, apart from the obvious differences, also use different mounts on the body. So it's not a direct bolt in. But if you changed the mounts you could probably make it work. I've also been looking for a perfect 84-89 dash also. No luck here either.
