replacing the wiper lever, hard?
hey guys. my wiper switch will only consistantly work when it's on the full throttle position, i have a fully working one with busted plastic in my parts car, how hard is it to disassemble the column and the wiper stalk and replace it? should i just try and get a column?
my parts car is an 87 gta, and the driver s an 85 t/a. thank for the help in advance.

Re: replacing the wiper lever, hard?
It's not that hard, just have patience. Do a search on here about the disassembly of the column for loose steering wheel and such. There is one on here, can't remember who posted it, but they have a real good diagram that would be really helpful. Once you tear into it though it's pretty easy.

Re: replacing the wiper lever, hard?
i found the thread about tightening the tilt columns and it explained alot of what i have to do, looks like i won't have to go very far into the column to get the wiper stalk undone, i'll just have to peice together one good wiper stalk cause one works well and has busted plastic and the other is vice versa. looks like a lil weekend project.
Re: replacing the wiper lever, hard?
Yeah you don't have to go too far, just enough to get to the signal cancelling switch. Yeah it shouldn't take you that long to do it. The first time is always longer, but after that you can do it no problems.

Re: replacing the wiper lever, hard?
Are you certain it's the wiper stalk causing the problems, I had similar symptoms which was due to a duff connector to the wiper motor control unit on the firewall.
You never know, could be worth checking before disassembly
