c5 center console

So I happen to hate 3rd gen center consoles and have a c5 corvette one laying around thought id try too fit it in there. WAs wondering if anyone has tried too do this before if not guess ill be alone on this mod. Looks too be a bit tight and needs too have a base too raise it about 4 inches and the top heater/ac pod needs too be cut off but looks possible with a lil fiberglass and some time if no one else has tried this ill start posting pics and go from there.

Re: c5 center console

ya a long time buddy of mine told me that once when sharing car stories and i couldnt stop laughing i thought it was great. But anyways as far as the c5 dash goes i cut the igition tab and the ac/heater controls off and everything lines up right now i belive i can shave the stock center console bottom and use that as the base for the c5 console then just add the needed fiberglass. It even looks like the shifter whole will be close too perfect. I just have too figure out what too do with the back of the dash so it doesnt look wierd.

I don't know what I find more disturbing the fact that you want to put a C5 console into a thirdgen which would most likely require you to redo and rewire the entire interior or........the fact that you happen to have a C5 "just layin' around," and are choosing to fix the thirdgen!

Good luck with it, I'd like to see how it turns out.

Re: c5 center console

Are you doing the entire dash, cluster and all?? Or just centre??
If your doing it all, let me know how it works out.. Because I got some old parts from my cousins C5 in my room, and if they fit.. Well I wanna put em in..

Pictures would also be nice if you get the chance when your done.. Hit me up

Re: c5 center console

lol its not disturbing when i bought my C5 the center console and dash where painted black and blue and i told the dealership i wanted the orginal put in are i wouldnt buy it so i got a extra c5 dash out of the deal. As of right now im just going too attempt the center console i got 2 sitting around i picked another one up for 40 bucks so if i ever decide to attempt the whole thing i have a unmolested piece. i really dont mind the thirdgen dash thou plus i have no desire too rewire everything at this point lol. pictures are coming i already got the old one out and am moking up some stuff i just need time.

Re: c5 center console

Well I gotta do some rewiring in the maro anyways (bought it wiring was a mess and still is)
So im thinking if it fits, might aswell.. I basically have a complete interior minus seats, and belts..

But if you got any more extra parts, im sure you and I could make some sort of arrangement

Re: c5 center console

Sorry, I don't see how that's going to happen considering the C5 center console is intertwined with the dash and glovebox unless you're going to cut off the center sole portion and do some sanding and fabricating.

I'm curious to see how this is going to turn out.
