Unknown plastic replacement.
Unknown plastic replacement.
Hello!
I recently replaced my headliner with an abs injection molded plastic board and i broke a plastic piece in the back of back seats and i dont know what its called and cant find a replacement. Frankly i dont even know how to describe it other than it was a long plastic piece that ran the length of the hatch glass and separated the headliner from the hatch at the sail panels. it seems that it has two screws on either side that helps to keep the headliner in place. any suggestions on where to find this or even what it is called would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Re: Unknown plastic replacement.
The proper terminology for that part is rear window opening moulding, your best bet is to go to the local junk yards or place an ad here in the interior parts wanted section.

Ya I know what peice you mean, it's a really fragile peice of plastic kinda like the trim that runs along the bottom of the door sil. I've had two different ones both with at least two hole broken right out.

Send a pm to RCAR7395 asking for that piece. There is a very good chance he has it in the color you want for a decent price.

Yeah, Ray (RCAR7395) Really knows his stuff. I've bought from him a couple of times. You can trust him not to rip you off or send you "Junk".

Mine has all the screw holes broke out of it, so it's going to get a few layers of fiberglass laid around the holes and drilled out. It sure is some lightweight cheap'o plastic though.
That might be my after work project today. Thanks for the reminder and motivation.

I think you can buy brand new ones that aren't brittle, but they need to be painted to match.

What color do you need? I'll keep an eye out for it next time I go to the junkyard.
If I remember right... there is a good red one and a good charcoal one.
