hey thats my thread!
Its not that hard to make em. Get some aluminum from the hardware store, measure, drill some holes, countersink them, polish, and VOILA!

Re: Custom Door Sills

I've wanted aluminum door sills for years, but haven't been able to find anybody that could make them. I'm not talking about just a flat sheet of aluminum that you screw onto the stock door sills, I want a complete replacement like the ones in this thread:

https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/body...ght=sills+door

I have already tried contacting the member in that thread to see if he would be able to have more made, but he no long in contact with the club member that made them.
I have even downloaded eMachineShop and designed them, but received an error when the program analyzed my design saying that the machine wouldn't be able to make all of the bends because the machine itself would be in the way.

Re: Custom Door Sills

oh ok, so you want something with the overlap piece. I just used a 4th gen sill piece. You almost need to have that stamped in one of those sheet metal benders. I have emachine shop, I'm gonna try to make one and see how it comes out. Which machine/materials did you use?

Re: Custom Door Sills

I've been planning on making some for a while, I just haven't gotten around to it. I'm going to make mine out of polished stainless. I work in a sheet metal shop so I've got all the tools/equipment to make all the bends. I'm just going to make a copy of the stock piece, but it wont have the "tread" on the sill piece.

I guess it's time I get around to making them.

You should be able to take one of your plastic ones in to any HVAC sheet metal shop and get metal copies made fairly quickly. I'm figuring it'll only take me maybe an hour at the most to make them.
