Re: new interior ideas

SEATS
4thgen seat you can get on Ebay or junkyard
Better then the 3rdgen. They sit low and better lower back support. Direct fit
You could always get your current seats redone if you wanted
CONVERT WINDOW use this guild
Just go to a junkyard to get them. If the motors turn out to be shot (not working) then buy the motors off eBay there pretty cheap and new and are direct fit to the old once
CARPET
Best bet is Year One for new carpet
There is always a cheap way and that is to find OK carpet in a junk car.
-
There is not really a cheap way to do this if you want it to look nice. That's why you pretty much have to fix your car up in stages. this is the stage I'm going into and this is not cheap to do.

Re: new interior ideas

Well with white your pretty open I think best picks are: all white or white and black or white and red.
Check out this thread for some ideas: https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/auto-detailing-appearance/483130-forget-those-other-colors.html?highlight=white

Re: new interior ideas

I'm having trouble finding a guide for the 4th gen console but I'll see if I come across one.

Yes you can pick any color LEDs that you want, you just need to make sure it's I believe a 194 LEDs and then pick your color. Easy to find on eBay. If your going for orange it usually called amber.

Re: new interior ideas

wow i actually figured that would be a harder swap. where did you get the console
it does look a little more convenient with the cupholders and whatnot, i love where your buttons ended up!
and it gives the interior a lot more of a custom look

i'll definitly look into this for mine thanks

WOW those blue lights really do look nice. Could you please tell us where you got them? Also you said they were just the bulbs, so do they just go in like the normal light bulb?

yup those blue LED's do look pretty bad a$$, and don't worry about taking over the thread, it was a new ideas thing and so far you've had some of the newest ideas.

i'll definitly look into them for sure

also back on the point of the interior, do the 4th gen seats just bolt right in where the 3rd gen ones were or would i need to do custom work

Re: new interior ideas

OK in short yes but it's not an easy swap like it would be with camaro seats. You'll have to drill new floor bolts to lay the track but before that make sure the seat will fit in the car.

eBay is the best to get it cheap and "easily available" Hawks if you got the money and My favorite is the junkyard but it's more of a "hit or miss". (recommended for the console mainly)

Well with the back there is not much to do you could do a "back seat delete" and replace them with subs or something. Other then that nothing comes to mind

4th gen back seats bolt in too. Maybe get some custom embroidery on your sail panel trim? I alsways thought that would be neat to have the screamin' chicken stiched into both sail panels.

Re: new interior ideas

The site that I got it from didn't have a picture of it. Look on my cardomain I got picture of it. You mite need to have a good monitor to see them clearly. I'll get some picture later today when I can. Basicly it looks the same but over the speaker area it is a hole design not slits.

ok i'm definitly just getting the cap then, it looks just as good in my opinion. have you had anyproblems since you've had it in.

also i liked the whole cup holder in the original console, let me know how that goes.

and a couple more questions, how'd you do the hatch release, aaaaand how would i make the locks automatic?

Re: new interior ideas

Have not had any problems.

The cup holder should be pretty sweet when i get it done. I know a few people that have done it. Right now I'm at a stand still cause I can't find a cup holder or cup extender but I'll find one somewhere.

The hatch release was really easy and cheap got it from a junkyard camaro (looks like the picture below). Also grab the switch that was in there too. Install the hate release on the hatch motor. If your camaro is like mine the wire to connect them is already there one plug in the back and then there is two wires under the center console. Connect them and use a dremel to cut a hole in the center console, push the button in and connect. Your done. Any troble make sure the release is grounded to the car.

Hmm power locks. Never done that. I'll see if I come across something

Re: new interior ideas

yeah it'd be kind of cool if i could somehow hook the locks up to a remote so i could lock?unlock my car before i get there...without the key.
