15" alum spare tire question

The black plastic spare tire rest piece that the spare tire sits on...did it only go with the 14" inflatable spare tires or was it also used for the larger 15" inflatable spare tires? I assumed it only went with the smaller diameter to take up the extra space but maybe that's a bad assumption?

Does anyone know? My spare tire stuff was stolen and I'm not sure if I had one or not.

Re: 15" alum spare tire question

it went with all "space saver" spares. And I dont think the aluminum spares are 15's......I have 3 and they are all 14's

Re: 15" alum spare tire question

Well, I came to find out there are 4 different "space saver" inflatable spare tires for third gens:
14" steel inflatable
14" black alum inflatable
15" black alum inflatable
14" 5 spoked alum inflatable

Mine has a tire size of 195/75 15. So, not really sure if I need the black tire rest thingy or not.

Re: 15" alum spare tire question

The plastic spacer is for all inflatable spares.Don't think the space saver needs it.Since its inflated, Its taller. The spacer helps line up the wheel to fasten it to the jack.

Re: 15" alum spare tire question

I didn't have one in my 85, which was equipped with an inflatable--of course, the piece may have been lost along the way.
