Hey i stripped my interior and im putting in a roll cage this weekend. Im dying the plastics, replacing the carpet, and recovered all of the grey faboric. The one thing i dont have is new seats. The ones i have are grey and ripped. Im basically looking for any kinds of new/used seats that will bolt onto the existing mounts. If i could just get some posts with different options that would be great! Also, what needs to be done so that 4th Gen seats will fit. Welding is not a problem, as it will be done for the cage. Just needs to know what mods im looking at. Thanks!

 

4th gen seats are a direct bolt-in.

 

they fit in myn perfect direct bolt in and the feet were a little beefyer

 

dont mean to jack the thread but....are there any advantages to having 4th gen seats? and are there any aftermarket seats that fit? just curious

4th gen seats are softer, not so firm.
4th gen seats sit almost 2" lower, not like you are riding in a 4x4.
4th gen seats hung you more firmly/more contour
4th gen seats are a DIRECT bolt-in, no mods.

I can't think of ANY negative aspect to putting some in.

 

the brackets are stronger
there newer then what u have now
some may have more featurs such as tilt and the button for rear pasengers to flip the seat

 

just put in a set of black leather outa a 01 t/a
they are more comfy cause they are newer
ajustable (elec.)when i wire them up
one negative is they are expensive even used

 

80 bucks for both of myn but they were cloth and non electric

I have a 88 Firebird, I bought it 3 days ago and someone put Blue Blazer seats in it.
So yeah i hate them.
I went to my local U-PUll it and found some GrandAm/Prix seats that look period correct and are the right color.

Could someone please give me the height measurements of the org. slides and height of the base foam (the part your butt sits on) from the floor.
