Cleaning the plastic interior panels

I was wanting to know if anyone has found a good way to get the ABS plastic interior parts clean. I have tried several different cleaners but none seem to get the dirt that has worked its way deep into the plastic over 20+ years. If anyone has found something that works I would really be grateful. Thanks

If it's really dirty when I get it. I'll take it out and wash it with some hot soapy water and a wash cloth. To keep it clean I use a product by Turtlewax....can't rember the name. But it comes in a green spray bottle.

you could always try Tri-sodium Phosphate i am going to try it when it gets warmer on the larger pieces that i pulled from junk yards last year. i have had good success on the small pieces that i have.

Second the Tri-sodium Phosphate, it's used to clean the plastics before they get dyed...

I used Dupont 3812S enamel reducer to clean the plastics on my 88 IROC'S Beechwood tan interior plastics. It was the only thing that got the 20 year old grime out. They look as good as new now. You can buy it at Carquest or a bodyshop supply store. My brother owns a body shop and told me about it. They use it for removing glue and grime before painting surfaces. Trust me you won't be disappointed.

Heres a link to a photo of it.

i used some goof off to clean my camel door panels, rear plastics, etc. i couldnt believe the difference it made. it even got all the black "shoe" rubs off the bottom of the door panels. I tried every cleaner my wife had in the house before i found goof off. LOL.

Re: Cleaning the plastic interior panels

Two crazy remedies here that work like a charm for me on some old 50's and 60's parts I dd back in the day....

baking soda and vingear-eats grime away real fast, sometimes they have to soak for a while then scrub but it usually loosens things up real good.

Cocoa Cola- works awesome on anything metal. I kid you not. Soak anything metal in a bottle of store brand coke and voila clean over night.

Goof Off and Goo Gone are my next choices if those don't work.
