SEEING GAUGES ???

o.k. i'm on my 3rd 3rd gen camaro . this last one is a 91 r/s with the yellow dash lettering . i find on a bright day that it is difficult to read the gauges . i have talked to others with 90's camaro's and all agree . my question would be is there anything that could be done to solve this problem ? something that would not look out of place/mis-matched . thank's yall , i know others must feel as i do about the yellow used by G.M. . thanks ...

Re: SEEING GAUGES ???

I think you can install a cluster from an earlier Camaro, IIRC there was a thread here on TGO about how to do so...

Re: SEEING GAUGES ???

it wouldnt be 100% factory look Tom, but have you thought about the white face gauge overlays

they look ok installed, but like i said not factory...... i would do mine if i wasnt going for the mostly all original look

IDK tom they make look pretty ...they look better IMO if you go with the diamond back turns and clear side markers like you did on your 89....they also make a wite over lay for the HVAC and the shifter......but then you would still have the yellow letter radio i traded you .....but im sure i can revive your 89 radio to give you a white letter radio again, or i think i can swap the face plates so you got that white letter radio on the one i gave you....just a thought on changing somethings around on her.....im not 100% sure what route your going with this one so i may of just wasted my time

Re: SEEING GAUGES ???

Can you not see them just because of the yellow lettering?

When I get my car going again, I'm going to have someone who makes custom gauges redo mine with white lettering. Then I can put whitish/bluish LEDs behind them.

Might be something to think about, I've never been a fan of the white face gauges, they look out of place to me on any car. But that's just me.
