Gas Pedal Fell Off.....Reattach?

Gas Pedal Fell Off.....Reattach?

In addition to some other problems I've had this week the gas pedal just randomly fell off...

All that comes through the fire wall is a post. Has anyone else had this happen? Was this thing glued on?

lol, yup, fell off while she was driving. I got the pedal back on, but I couldn't figure out how to get the spring back on. Wife doesn't seem to mind so I'll just leave it off.
