I was taking it off to clean under everything (not under the speaker though) and now the screw doesn't work right. can anyone help me?

 

these are a pain to put back in, you have to screw it back in - in a certian spot at a certain angle to hit the hole for it, either that or the thread/hole is stripped.

 

I agree. These are always a pain to get back in. Just need to take some time and get the screw to go straight back. They (eventually) screw back in. I always found it funny how long they made those screws, maybe just to make our lives more difficult?

As mentioned above, the screw has to be at a certain angle to go in. The hanger screw hole is on a slight bow with the body so it is tricky. The screw holes are raised a bit at the sheet metal. I found this same issue with the two outer screws holding lower foot molding to rocker panel. Screws only seem to want to catch metal at a certain angle. Good luck.

 

Put the screw in through the hook and sail panel. Partially install everything and pull back the top of the panel just enough to see the hole and the end of the screw. You won't be able to see it go in but aim the screw towards the hole.
Works most of the time.

 

I'm glad I'm not the only one who has problems with these sail panels. They are a pain to get the screw on the right angle.

 

sometimes if the screw does not go back in.. you might have to try tightening up your inrerior panels around the back seats. i had the same problem.. and once i tightened everything back up, it realigned the screw with the hole and allowed me to screw it right in..
