question on panel
i saw this 84 camaro with a panel that covers the trunk well, when were they available and what is the production name for it

They were available starting in 1982. You need to get the cover as well as the rear plastics. The rear plastic cover has a lip and a latch for the cover to rest on and lock into.

Interesting. I see no reference to them in the Camaro White Book until 84.
At any rate, they should fit 82-85 without problem. John has some for sale, 305forever, should you be interested:

Only reason I know for a fact they were available in 1982, was because my 1982 Z28 with CFI that I bought in 1985 had it. The car had 29k miles on it when I bought it.

While reading that, it was stated by Dens that D27 was part of B48. That, I can't say for sure, but the last post states that the 86 doesn't have the cover with B48. Maybe we need to start a poll and see who has what! As for this thread, they were available thoughout the entire run, but there were different styles based on the years because of the auto pull down feature coming later on.
