Anyone installed a grab handle?

Just curious if anyone installed a Oh **** handle in there camaro. I'm thinking about putting one in when i do the headliner here soon.

I'm, assuming it would be okay to install it with sheet metal screws that are short and just enough to go into the lower ceiling metal right?

Thanks
-Scott

T-Tops in mine exclude any Oh **** handle. So for my car ...

If you're a girl, you'll just have to grin and bare it (ALL)!

You could just use short sheet metal screws, but they are not going to hold very much. So if anyone actually pulls on it with any kind of force, it could very well pull out in their hand. Unless you put some kind of backing plate to reinforce it a bit...like having a washer behind the metal or square metal piece to allow more surface area. I would probably use a larger screw/bolt and have it tapped or use a nutsert some sort in the metal if possible. Otherwise it would be mostly for decoration in my opinion.

HAHA, the manufacturers only use self tapping screws. I found that out when my cuz was looking at getting a new car. i was young and tagged along w/ my cuz and my uncle to look at a ford focus. we were test driving it when my uncle grabbed both Oh S*** handles and started rocking the car pretty hard and then snap. he pulled the screws right out of the holes on the passanger side. Then he shoved the handle under the seat. For some reason, we she didnt get that car. lol. just thought i would share
