High RPM Reading

High RPM Reading

Hello, when i turn my car on my RPM gauge just flys right up in to the Red Zone. I dont know if it is a bad gauge or something else if anyone knows please tell.

Take a look at this thread. You have to get a few pages into it to find the exact fix, but basically you need to do a simple mod of the tachometer circuit. It cost me less than $2 to fix and now it works perfectly.

Oops...I see in your sig you have an 84. Not sure if this will apply to you but you can look at it anyway.

It's a scientific fact that our factory guages are junk lol. They hardly ever read right, and glitch out all the time. I know there is a thread on here with hundreds of reply's about fixing tachometers that read off, not sure what the deal is with yours, but it seems all Thirdgen guages are like that, unless you have a low mileage car.
