Restoration with modification
well what started as a full out stock restoration, has now turned into a restoration with 4th gen modifications. originally came on here looking for parts, but then seen all the 4th gen swaps that had taking place during my deployments, and fell in love with it. i've got everything i need for the interrior swaps (minus a trunk vinyl pannel, dash pad, ash tray slots 1 n 2, and the center console lid).have already taking evrything out of the car and cut the brackets. all i got left to do is start the wiring now. i've been able to find the schematics to wire up the insturment cluster, but all the rest of the wiring i've not had much luck finding (been searching for the last week for em). but once i've found them it'll be a piece of cake ( didn't cut any of the connecters on either dash ). if anyone wouldn't mind point me in the right way of the rest of wiring charts (either personal experience or links) that will work for a 84 and 94 camaro that would be great. i am alittle confused on a major part of the cluster though. since my cars spedometer is powered from cable ( and i have read and re-read the hole thing bout the need for a vss and how the 93-95 or 96 camaros would still accept it), so where do i plug the cable in? or does it just not get plugged in? some help would be great, and if this helps my 84 still has stock carb 305 and stock 700r4 (haven't felt the need to swap them out yet, after 70,000 original miles and still running strong don't feel its time yet). here are some pics on my progress, n yes i know my car is a mess, should have seen it before.

Yeah, I read that in one of your other threads. I even posted a request that you make sure you leave that Texas weather behind when you come, but you might have missed it. Where will you be stationed? If there's anything I can do to help you settle in and get aclimated, let me know. I can give bad advice as well as anyone!
As you can see from my profile, I have a black '89 GTA. Someday I'd like to do an LS1/T-56 swap, and the 4th Gen interior swap. But, mine's in excellent condition and all original except for the audio system, so some folks thing I should leave it original. Frankly, I'm torn. I can see the "keep it original" point of view. But I've also been looking at it and driving it for 20 years, so a change would be nice. Decisions, decisions... Oh well, it's not like I have the money to do anything right away. Not in this wretched economy!

linky no work! You've got one too many "http"s in it, and if you remove the extra one, myspace asks for a login...

Re: Restoration with modification
I used to live in Mililani, near Schofield, but that was a long time ago. Now I live in Hawai'i Kai, on the east side of Honolulu. As for clubs, I dunno if I can be of much help. At my age (I'm an ancient, decrepit, older-than-dirt 50!) I don't get out to clubs much anymore (except for an occasional visit to a hostess bar or a strip club ). All the places I used to hang out are long gone. For waves, pretty much anywhere on the North Shore or on the Leeward Coast. I'm sure the guys on base will be able to steer you in the right directions.

Re: Restoration with modification
ok, in a bit of a snag. got the insturment cluster, headlights, and dimmers wired up. every thing works, except for all the gauges on the insturment cluster. all idiot lighs work just fine. now i know i need the vss, but where do i locate it on the car so i can hopefully go pull one from a junk yard. i already have the optical sensor "yellow box" that goes behind the 3rd gen cluster. then the next question would be how does it get wired to the 4th gen cluster (93-96 camaro)?
