overhead console

overhead console

How does my overhead console come out?

Car: '85 Firebird
Engine: 2.8 V6
Transmission: stock BW 5 spd.
Axle/Gears: stock 3.42

take the lense off the dome light in the back, take the bulb out (watch it, it might be hot) on either side of the bulb holder is a screw, take those out, let the back drop down, then slide the entire this back slightly, it should come out now, unplug the connector at the front & that should be it.

Depends on whether the console is a T-top or a coupe version. The T-top slides toward the windshield, the coupe toward the hatch. Post #2 of the following link has a pic:

Aside from the connector, there's also a ground wire.
