Made a replacement rubber slider for 90-92 Shifter Plate

Got creative the other day and made a replacement slider for my shift plate. My old one was broke and falling apart.

The material I used was almost identical to the texture of the plastic.

I think it turned out nice, opinions welcomed

Don't mind the wires hanging or the dust, i was in the middle of fixing my broken RPM gauge.

I redid mine several years ago - went to the art/craft store and bought a $5 plastic portfolio, cut a piece out of it for a slider. It's smooth instead of the ridges, doesn't collect dust like the ridged ones.

You can get this stuff at Lowes, i thinks in along with the stuff you put under carpets and stuff. its on a big 2 or 3 foot roll. Its easy if you have your old one to guide you along with cutting out your new one. Cost me 5 bucks for a 1x1 foot piece, and that was enough to do about 10 sliders if I wanted too.

I was thinking about perfecting it, and finding a trim ring(plastic piece around shift lever) and making a bunch to sell for about 4-5 bucks shipped.

Re: Made a replacement rubber slider for 90-92 Shifter Plate

Hello! I have an 88 Camaro. I have the same issue. I found the product online on amazon but not in-store at lowes and home depot. Do you know if you got the fine rib or the cleat? Is this even it? lol.

Fine rib:
FINE RIB MAT FINE RIB MAT

Cleat:
CLEAT MAT CLEAT MAT

If these are not it then does anybody else have a solution? Thanks!
