Shifter assembly replacment process
i have an 82 trans am and i just wana know if i have to take the seats out to remove the rug to get to the shifter assembly or can i just take the center console off and there i go, my uncle said i will probably have to take out the seat to get to the carpet but he said to double check on that, thanks

You just have to take out the console. No need to remove the seats unless you want more room. The seats are just four quick bolts and easier to remove than the console unless they're electric anyway. The carpet is cutout under the console, no need to take it out. Take it easy, the console is breakable if you force it. Have fun
