Ok, As you all can tell I am new to the site. I purchased a 1987 Firebird LG4 5 speed and can't find the RPO code sheet (already addressed in another thread).

My question is, since my car is red what colors were offered on the interiors? Mine has gray carpet, seats, and sunvisors but the door panels are red with black tops (the plastic covers at the top). My headliner is missing so thats no help. I was wondering if others had a mixture of grays, blacks and exterior color door panels as well? Or were they all one color interiors?

 

By the looks of it your interior was grey and someone previously stuck red door panels on it - probably to match the aftermarket pedal covers. The entire interior of your car should be grey with only a few black trim panels around the glass.

 

Thats what I thought, thanks. I never noticed the lower section of the passenger side dash until now, it has a black piece but the rest is gray. I guess I have some stupid stuff to make right again!

 

Some Firebirds have two tone interiors... The theme carries from the dash to the door panels, to the seats. If your door panels are solid red then someone probably just swapped them from another car. But there are some cars with red on the bottom part of the door panels, and the cloth portion at the top is gray, with red and gray seats, and so on...

 

yeah, I like it simple so its going to gray. I just thought someone had the actual list of what Pontiac used as what went with what.

 

Well yeah, there are dealership brochures that show what color combos were offered. But they're year by year and as far as I know, so far no one has put all that info online in one spot for the Firebird.

 

That Trams Am Red/Grey interior sure was nice !!! One of the 'coolest' from the factory IMO.
