this might be a stupid question but i found this..car is still new to me so im still finding things. its right under the dash pad

 

looks like a light socket.

 

 

i thought that but it doesnt come on with anything. maybe ill run power straight to it and see what happens

 

It is a light to illuminate the area around the center console a bit, but they always burn out quickly and end up being forgotten about. There have been a few posts on this, and as far as I know they all didnt work anymore (bulb blown). From what I understand even when they are working, they are pretty useless anyway.

 

oh thats wat i thought but it didnt look to great..maybe ill just replace it with a better light or something?? anyone do anything diffferent with it or just forget about it and leave it alone lol??

 

some replace with a custom made led + resistor, i dont recall if theres a direct led replacement for it

 

i have this in two on my 92 camaro's but there is a red? button?
