86 camaro clutch rod / pedal plasting retainer

Hey guys, I'm having trouble finding a replacement part for my 1986 chevrolet camaro (V8 305, 5spd).

The part I'm looking for is the little white plastic piece that snaps into the clutch rod (the rod that goes into the clutch master cylinder) and then snaps over the peg on the side of the clutch pedal holding it in place (the inside of the plastic piece has a ridge that snaps into a groove on the peg). It seems to have the double purpose of serving as a bushing and retainer.

Mine broke completely in half and everything fell apart so is completely unusable, so I can't use my clutch atm!

Thanks for any info!

Steven

is this just the small white plastic liner, about the size of a dime with 3 little tabs sticking off the one side? I have a few in the garage, still in bags, let me run out and grab one.

part number 14091384 "bushing" if thats it.

no picture, and my camera is dead, sorry

Here is what is left of mine, does this look like the same part?

Edit: Did some searching on that part number you provided and haven't found a picture but from other descriptions it definitely sounds like what I need. Only place I can find it though is gmpartsdirect.com and they want 5.17 + 6 bucks shipping... that is crazy for this little piece of plastic lol. I'm going to try just using an E-Clip tomorrow and see how that works, I don't really see a huge need for this plastic piece there, probably just helps the rod turn on the pedal a little more smoothly than without it but I think it will work fine without it.

Same thing happened to mine. I used a brake clasp (same as on the brake pedal, and similar to aforementioned e-clip) to repair it. Only drawback is a squeak from the clutch pedal, but I can live with that.

thats it, i have 3 or 4 of them.

FWIW, im using an e-clip on my car, but im using a 4th gen hydraulic setup and the eyelset it thicker to this bushing didnt work. I did trim it down and use it simply as a bushing on the inside of the eyelet so there is no metal on metal contact.

Be willing to sell one?

FYI, without this thing, the clutch pedal gets a TON of play in it, and may sometimes have trouble releasing. I've had the T5 for 4 years now and sometimes it's a real pain shifting without this.

I believe you can get these in your Help section at your local auto parts store..
