custom center console

i was thinking on redoing my center console because my storage area wasnt in the best of shape. ill just post some pics and see for yourself.

still not done. i was shocked on the fitment of the rear ash tray section and the ebrake area. i am very pleased with it so far

i always wanted to take the storage area out. so when mine cracked i decided to delete it completely. who needs storage anyways.....lol

i never used the armrest. i completely took out the center console in my old camaro, and regreted doing it. now i have a place to put my gauges and other goodies hidden by the ash tray lid.

i havent posted on this thread in a while. i am in the middle of making a 1 piece cover that will connect the gauge section to the shifter section. and im thinking of using 5 gauges instead of 6.

the 2 main screws that alot of people forget are the 2 that connect the console to the dash itself. you can see them in the 3rd pic from the 1st post i did

That's looking really nice. What are you going to use as a shifter boot? The same thing as the other console cover? I'm wanting to do a custom console cover for my 91 TA because I don't have a current cover and I need to move some of the switches around for things I've added under the console.
What did you use as a template for the sheetmetal? The stock cover? If I had one I guess I could use it too...

im not sure yet on shifter boot right now. i didnt use a template, i just made a few measurements and cut it out. i also had to trim the old cup holder area out to make the new plate sit flush.
