hey guys i recently bought an 89 iroc a few months ago. everything looks right on the car except that it has sport coupe tail lights (1 line going through middle instead of 2). my question is did any 89 irocs come with these? it has the original 350tpi and numbers match up.

No they did not. The 89 IROC-Z cars only came with the grid style tail lights.

 

If it has the painted line going through then those are Z28 tail lights. Sport Coupes dont have any line painted through them.

Not sure when the cris-cross stripes got incorporated into the tail lights, and was probably an option.

 

If a single black line goes through the middle of the light it is a RS tail light, if it is the grid style it is a IROC-Z for 1989.

The grid style lights were on all Z28s and IROC-Zs from 1985-1992. The single line was available on 82-84 Z28 and the ground effects, non z cars from 1987-1990.

 

Look in the junk yards, there always in one here.
