98 guage cluster into a 91 dash?

Have a few finishing touches to add to the "show" side. Going to fabricate a way to mount it in the dash and wire it up within the next 2 weeks.

are you still using a TPI engine or are you LS1 swapped?

Re: 98 guage cluster into a 91 dash?

There is a member who modded his gauge panel to fit a 98-02 gauge cluster. But I would imagine it wouldn't be too much different than this.

Re: 98 guage cluster into a 91 dash?

I dont think its going to work. The Tach input signal comes from the PCM in along with fuel and check engine light. Your speedo should work if you have a voltage driven style. If you dont have the PCM to really match then, i dont think it will work. I think the 93-97 should work

Re: 98 guage cluster into a 91 dash?

From what ive researched the fuel guage is the only one that gets a signal from the bcm. I have yet to look up the schematics but im sure i can get it sorted out and have everything working.

Re: 98 guage cluster into a 91 dash?

Got the side pieces to cover up most of the space between the guages and housing. Once i got them fairly close to the shape of the edge of the housing i superglued them to the housing. I will use some type of filler to fill the gaps and smooth everything out. Going for a completely factory look.

wiring will definitely be fun, but i have access to schematics of both cars so it shouldnt be too difficult.
