hey guys, can anyone tell me if anyone has tried to install 04-06 GTO seats in a third gen? If anyone has measurements can you post them, pics would be great as well. i think i'm going to try it,any thoughts? thanks.

 

I tried this with some similarly comfortable BMW seats. If they're anything like the GTO seats, they aren't going to fit nicely at all. You'll probably lose your center console, and if you manage to rig something up to get them to sit on the 3rd gen floor, your head will likely wind up less than two inches from the roof.

That said, I say you should go for it.

 

lol if i can get a set i will try it. they don't look any bigger height wise, just bigger bolsters, now the back seats could be a little different hehe.

 

The issue (with the bimmer seats) is that the motors under the seat make the lower portion taller and cause you to sit higher than you would otherwise.

 

My one friend says it would take alot of work to get GTO seats in a 4th gen fbody so i imagine the same would apply to a 3rd gen since 4th gen seats bolt up just fine.

 

They bolt right in. A couple of guys at the weekend car shows have them. They are the same size (Roughly) as the 4thgen seats. I will be going to the show weekend after next, and will try to get a few pics if you are still interested.

 

I just picked up a set of gto seats for dirt cheap and am dead set on using them. If all goes well expect a write up. I have been browsing around ls1tech and a guy was able to fit them nicely after fabbing up a set of mounting brackets so ill probably take the same route.

 

Check out phoenix craigslist. There is a guy on there selling his 91 RS with red gto seats. He said they just bolted right in.
