split back vs solid back in the same fabric
I have a chance to upgrade my seats to some deluxe seats from a 91 rs. My only concern is I don't want to mod the car to fit the split back, at least not anytime soon. I would like to do one of two things, you tell me if either is possible
Join the two seats together without bolting the middle section of the seats, just for looks, nobody ever sits back there anyway
Find a solid rear seat back out of another 91 RS that matches the deluxe fabric of the seats I am getting. This what I would rather do, but I don't know if the same fabric was available in both solid and split. I would like to know my options before I get these seats

If you want matching front and rear seats, and a solid rear seat, I'd suggest looking to 4th gen seats - you'll get newer cleaner seats, the 4th gens had solid rears, and most had electric driver seat as added bonus.

Re: split back vs solid back in the same fabric
LOL...
maybe I should have mentioned that I have 4th gen seats in the car right now, and I'm trying to replace them. I want the car to look more original, and everybody and their dog does 4th gen seats. I don't think the fabric matches the color scheme of my car.
My base model 3rd gen seats I took out look fine, but they don't match the deluxe interior door panels I already have an want to install. there's a hole in the drivers seat that I can get fixed easily because the velour fabic is easy to match.
the deluxe interior seats out of the 91 come from the same car that the door panels came from, but there's the issue with one hole in the drivers seat that needs fixing by attempting to match that panel, and the issue with the split back seat.

I'm just not sure how you'd go about "joining" the split seats. Are you sure your 1992 doesn't have the split seat bracket? My 1992 car had splits in it (before I swapped to 4th gen seats) and the T is still in there.
