How do I remove shifter indicator...
on my 83 T/A? There appears to be 2 black round brads that hold it to the plate. The strip looks rusty, and I want to take it apart and clean it.

It might be easier to help you if you posted some pictures. I've removed the shifter indicator on a camaro before, thought maybe I could try and help you out.
